A little crabby

I can hardly believe it’s already Monday again AND time for a new challenge over at Crafty Boots. Our theme for the next fortnight is “Summertime.” Here’s one of my DT cards that I am sharing:

This was the Father’s Day card I made for Mr Beez. I know it was yesterday but I thought this design could be easily adapted for a summer birthday. One of my favourite seaside resorts in the UK is Cromer on the North Norfolk coast and it’s famous for its crabs. In my opinion they are the best in the country and whenever we visit we always bring back a supply for the freezer. When my sons were young they would fish for them off the pier using bits of bacon for bait. They would always end up with a bucket full that were then dutifully returned to the sea.

This cute little guy is one of Magda Polakow’s fabulous digital images and I wouldn’t want to eat him. I’ve coloured him with polychromos and then added a little dusting of ink. The Father’s Day sentiment was printed from my computer. The background papers are from my stash.

After a run of fabulous hot and sunny days the weather seems to have resorted to the more traditional British summer of rain, rain and more rain. I know we are not the only household who have resorted to turning the central heating back on! Maybe this Crafty Boots challenge will inspire the sun to come out to play and we look forward to seeing all your summery entries.

Thanks for buzzing by.

  1. Oh Mrs Beez, he is just so adorable, beautifully coloured and your papers are perfect. He would brighten up anyone’s drab day.

Thumbs up to both Cromer and it’s crabs.
