A girl’s best friend

Another long week but I survived my ordeal in the storage unit thanks to my many layers and thermal everythings keeping me warm and toasty. It is particularly grim in the UK right now with storm after storm battering everything in sight. Gertrude came and went keeping me awake most of the night. The way things are going I’m thinking of putting in a bid to get storm “L” named after me. I wonder how you do that?

Anyway, I’m here to share a card that I am sharing over at City Crafter Challenge Blog for this week’s theme is “for the love of pets.”

This adorable little image is from A Day for Daisies. I printed the image on to watercolour card and then used watercolour pencils and a waterbrush to add pastel shades.

I popped a paper rose over the original flower in the image.

I added a little stamping to the card using Spun Sugar distress ink and added the sentiment in black.

I’m hoping for a break in the weather so I can get out and up my number of daily steps. I’m loving my new Fitbit but it is highlighting the fact that my daily routine is woefully inadequate when it comes to reaching the goal of 10,000 steps (although I have received a tree “badge” for climbing 25 flights of stairs over the course of a day!). I am determined that this weekend I will hit target!

Thanks for buzzing by.

  1. This is such a sweet card, I love how you have coloured it – I love Day for Daisy’s images but I really struggle colouring the hair, but you seem to have it sussed.

    • Thank you. That flower is covering up a bit of boo-boo that I made and didn’t feel inclined to start again. Turns out it was a happy accident 🙂 🙂 🙂

  2. Lisette the is someting in this iamge that took my breath away. Subtle and sweet. And the perfect touch of color. I am in awe…The weather her in the Netherlands is just as bad as it is in the UK. Stormy and loads of rain…. stay warm!
