From the title of this post you might be wondering if I have either fallen asleep or possibly that I have finally metamorphosed into a bee. Well it’s neither, on this occasion the Z is for the type of fold I have used for my card.
I am sharing this over at Craft Hoarders Anonymous where the theme of this fortnight’s challenge is to use a “fun fold.” I shall also be linking it up as my second project for this week’s “friend” challenge at Sunday Stampers. Before I became a serious crafter I used to use this fold a lot so I am pleased to be able to revisit it again for this challenge. There are tutorials all over the internet if you would like to see how it’s done. It woks really will with double sided cardstock but as I didn’t have any, or any that I wanted to use for this, I used plain cream card and then covered it with designer papers. These are from my long held stash that are in an Anna Griffin kit.
Once the panels were covered, I added some pretty lace along the top of the front facing panels. Then it was simply a question of adding the butterflies. I made mine using Stampin’ Up! stamps and matching punches. They have been coloured on both sides using distress inks.
I’ve added seam binding across the front and a stamped sentiment. The finishing touch was to add some tiny pearls.
Now here’s the thing, this card was just the most annoying thing to photograph well. It didn’t help that I was attempting this just as a thunderstorm was brewing.
I shall be giving this card to my friend and work colleague who is leaving next month. We have worked together for six and a half years and we both joined our organisation right at its inception. We formed a strong bond on the day we started and have remained as thick as thieves ever since – we are often taken to be sisters (with me obviously being the younger one!!!). I have been very lucky and I will miss her.
Thanks for buzzing by.
