Today I am sharing a Mother’s Day card that I’m linking up with Really Reasonable Ribbon’s current challenge, #70.

I’ve used some of the Gecko Galz papers from last month and combined them with lots of ribbon and lace. I haven’t added any words to the card because over here in the UK we celebrated Mothering Sunday about a month ago and I wanted to keep my options open!

The image is from the  Mother’s Love collage set  and I added a border of crochet lace. to frame it.  I layered up “Sonnets,” “Splendor” and “Rose Song” papers from the Wild Roses paper pack, edging them with Brushed Corduroy distress stain. I think this paper pack is one of my all time favourites. I popped the image on top, using foam pads to give it a bit of lift.

I made a little rosette from some more crochet lace and added ribbon streamers and a little paper rose in the centre.

I cut out a butterflies from the “Rose Song” paper, gave them seed pearl bodies and added them to the edge of the main image. To finish, I added a pink bow and a little glitter on some of the roses. The glittery roses reminded me of the cards you used to get in the old days. Remember the ones that used to be scented?

Be sure to hop over to the Gecko Galz  not only are there some fab freebies  to download, you can also take a look at all the Spring Fling projects, you won’t be disappointed and you can vote for your favourite.

  1. Your card is so touching, would be wonderful for American Mother’s day. Really love how you embellished it, so very pretty, all of it. Happy Days I always enjoy what you do.

I really appreciate it when people take time to leave a comment, thank you so much for doing so :)
