Springing into spring

So today is the first day of Spring. In my part of the world we seem to have a return of the winds ,that have played with us for a large part of the winter months, interspersed with bursts of bright sunny weather. It seems the latter has encouraged people to break open their summer wardrobes and I have noticed a rash of bare arms and legs appearing. Way to early in my opinion for it is certainly not warm. Me, I’m firmly entrenched in my winter boots and never without my scarf!

I thought today would be a good day to share a little altered house that I made as one of my Gecko Galz DT projects. I am sharing this over at That’s Crafty who have launched a new challenge blog. Their first theme is Anything Goes.

This was actually made before my little blue and white house but I just haven’t had chance to share  it here before now. I’ve used papers and images from this month’s Gecko Galz collections plus a fabulous paper from Jodie Lee whom the Galz have teamed up with for a cross promotion. Jodie’s papers are seriously pretty so do check them out.

For the front and roof of the house I used papers from the Jodie Lee Nature Garden collection. That pretty fairy is part of the paper’s design.

The paper covering the sides of the house is from the Gecko Galz Solarium paper pack. I added a bit of white  dry brushing and then some sparkle Mod Podge to seal the papers.

I’ve added lace and a cluster of yellow spring flowers to the roof  and a little cluster of daffodils in the corner.

The little rabbit is an image form the Gecko Galz Hip Hop Easter ephemera set and the butterflies are from various Gecko Galz sets. The pretty lace is from Really Reasonable Ribbon and came in one of my Ribbon Club assortments.

The butterfly at the back has been attached with wire.

I am also linking this up with Really Reasonable Ribbon for challenge #91 which is “Welcome Spring.”
