I thought I’d take a little break from card making even though, as I mentioned yesterday, I need a stack of birthday cards. It’s been on my mind for a little while now that it was time to make a little button fairy, maybe something for the spring. So when I saw that City Crafter Challenge Blog had the theme of wings for their current challenge, I decided this was the time to do it. I am also linking this up with Really Reasonable Ribbon’s challenge #RRR67 which is “Show me the green and ribbon.”
I’ve used a gorgeous green butterfly image from The Graphics Fairy plus a vintage photo of a cute little girl. First I printed out two images of the butterfly and used a glue pen to edge the wings with some emerald glitter. I also added glitter to the top of the little girl. I chose an assortment of green buttons from my stash and threaded these on to wire. In between each one I’ve attached a little emerald bow using RRR Forest Green Diamond Satin Ribbon which I recieved as part of a monthly ribbon club pack. I cut it in half so the strips were thinner.
In her hair I’ve given her a little emerald flower gem and some lighter green stars. Of course every fairy needs a wand and this one is no exception – I made her a little green shamrock. Now I suppose, she could also be a little Irish fairy coming to dispense good luck and wishes in time for St Patrick’s Day.
I know I probably say this every week, but I can’t believe the weekend is nearly over. At least next week won’t be as traumatic as last week – my little green fairy will see to that!
