This is the inspiration picture for the new challenge over at Papercraft Star this week.
This reminds me so much of a little restaurant that we went to during our holiday in Valencia earlier this year. They had a tiny space outside with room for just one table and Mr Beez and I were lucky enough to sit there for our meal. However, as we were eating tapas that evening it was quite a balancing act to fit all the dishes, and a jug of Sangria, on to it. Anyway, here’s my take on the photo’
You will see I’ve based my design on the windows and picked out the lovely rich red, greens and gold for my colour palette. I made three matching panels of cream card and then reassembled them again, temporarily, using a glue stick. Once joined, I stamped them in green, using a flowery branch stamp, then layered them on to deep red cardstock. I used glue gel to adhere them to the base of red and gold.
I’ve used a strip of coordinating ribbon across the bottom and made a little arrangement of crimson and ivory roses with some branchy fronds.
The butterflies were punched from matching card and I’ve added pearls to their bodies. The centre butterfly is made from a layer of cream card sandwiched between two red layers.
The finishing touch was to add some creamy pearls.
Thanks for buzzing by.
