Musical butterflies

Pinch and a punch it’s  the first of the month, which also means it’s time for a new customer challenge over at the Gecko Galz and the theme is The Music In Me. If you buzz over to the blog you can see all the fabulous projects that the rest of the DT have come up with. Here’s mine:

The base is a piece of chipboard that I have covered with paper and then inked and stamped. I also added some punched leafy branches.

The image is from this month’s La Boheme digital kit. I printed it out on to watercolour cardstock and then swooshed it through some watercolours that I had mixed on my crafty mat. Once it was applied to the base, I gave everything a dry brushing of gesso. I printed a second image , left it white and cut out the butterflies which were then added over the top of the original.

There’s a cluster of roses in one corner and they too have been dry brushed with gesso. I saw an idea similar to this in Craft Stamper magazine.

Thanks for buzzing by.

  1. This project looks amazing and there are so many techniques, which I am trying to to commit to memory, so I can try them for myself some time. I love the overstamping and the misty effect.

  2. Can I borrow some of your talents? This is so pretty, soft, lyrical. I’ve run out of words to adequately describe my reactions to your splendid creations. So incredibly talented. You sure have my admiration. I love to carefully look at your creations, so many little bits you add to make the whole so awesome.
Are you done with your travels to Belgium and anywhere else? Hope so, you might need bit of relaxation. I Keep finding things I want to put into your little box I’ll be sending you one of these days. Happy weekend
