Merci Beaucoup

Very happy to be back from my travels but not so happy to still have the cold that I was suffering from before I went. I can’t even cheer myself up with emergency doughnuts as they disappeared yesterday evening!!

This week’s challenge at City Crafter Challenge Blog is to use another language, other than English, on your card. Do go and take a peek at the DT samples and the entries to date as they are amazing. I’ve chosen to share a thank you card:

P1070511

The background was created using Victorian Velvet and Picked Raspberry distress inks and spritz of water once they were applied. I used some Worn Lipstick to stamp the dots.

P1070509

I stamped a floral sprig in black and added some white dotty highlights.

P1070505

The sentiment stamp is by Avery Elle.

P1070508

The border was drawn by hand. I stamped flowers and a butterfly on to white card and applied them using glue gel.

P1070506

If I wasn’t feeling so rotten I would have done a set of these using different colours, but that’s for another day!

Thanks for buzzing by.

  1. Beautiful card, those dotty accents on the flowers make them pop off the card as if you embossed the black, great effect! ~Diane

  2. This is soooooo pretty. I love everything about it, the pretty pink the layout the fab butterfly, the flowers, everything.

I had a look at the other DT pieces and the one thing that struck me was all the non-English stamps. I do not think I have any in my collection.

    • Thank you. It was only by default that I have the Merci Beacoup (and Bonjour) in that macaroon set otherwise I’m not sure I would have had one either. Although One of my fellow Gecko Galz DT members had the great idea of using an image written in French, which never crossed my mind. Quite fancy a Gud Jul.

  3. Such a beautiful card! Love your hand created background! So sorry you are still not feeling too good … I think I caught it too! Thanks so much for playing along at CCCB!!

    • Thank you Ros and sorry you’re not well either – especially on top of all the other things that have been happening in your life.

I really appreciate it when people take time to leave a comment, thank you so much for doing so :)
