Before I share today’s post with you, if you haven’t already taken a look, please do make sure you check out the pinned post at the top of my page (just above this post) and read about how you can win my blog candy AND support a good cause. 🙂
I’ve used a large style matchbox, cutting open the sleeve and attaching it to the back of the tray to create a flap. I covered the box with my favourite music manuscript from The Graphics Fairy. Once it was applied I inked all around the edges and joins with Vintage Photo distress ink then added some green moss.
I bought some fab new butterfly stamps, by Hero Arts, especially for my month long butterfly fest. This is a brilliant set that includes shells and a ladybird too (but no bee 🙁 ) I love the butterfly that is in profile. I stamped them using black Memento and then coloured them in with Promarkers, shaping and curling the wings before gluing to the box.
The flowers, by Sheena Douglass, were stamped using Worn Lipstick and Picked Raspberry. I stamped them on to Japanese rice paper as this curls up nicely when you twiddle a stylus in the centre.
The finishing touch was to add the words, which were printed out on my computer and then coloured with Wild Honey and Vintage Photo. You probably recognise them as coming from the song – “Love is like a butterfly.”
Do buzz over to Sunday Stampers and see the piece that Hels has made. I was very sorry to have missed this class at the Craft Den in Sheffield but, not surprisingly, it was full up 🙁 So I did what any self-respecting (not to mention sulking) crafter would do and took myself and Mr Beez off to Valencia! 🙂
Thanks for buzzing by and don’t forget to check out my give away.
