When I was younger, one of my favourite books was The Enid Blyton Book of Fairies. I knew all the stories by heart and it is a book I still have to this day.
If I wasn’t in a wardrobe trying to get to Narnia (yes, really!) I would be searching for secret doors to fairyland. Sadly, I never found one. Today I am sharing a cute little spring garden which I would have just loved to have had in my posession all those years ago:
I started with one of my little wooden canape cups from Pipii and painted it green. Then I added chunky clear glitter and fine sage Flowersoft over the paint to give it a vintage feel. I’ve attached a ruffle of pale yellow crepe paper all around the top edge. Next, I filled the pot with dry florisits foam and topped it off with moss.
I’ve used cute little flower fairy images from the Graphics Fairy, given them a hint of sparkle and then hot glued them to cocktail sticks.
I chose three lovely butterfly images, also from The Graphics Fairy, and have done my ususal trick of making them three dimensional by layering two images one on top of the other. The wings have been edged with glitter. I’ve used wire to secure the butterflies so I could bend each one into position.
I’ve also cut out and glittered a toadstool image. I’ve used paper flowers and moss and cream bows to complete the garden.
This was so easy to make but I have to give credit to Karen, The Graphics Fairy herself, for providing freely such inspirational images. As well as linking this up for Brag Monday I shall also be linking it up for the new Anything But A Card challenge which has a spring theme and with Crafty Boots whose theme is flowers. Thanks for buzzing by and have a good week.
