Fair and Square

Time for a new challenge at Crafty Boots and for the next fortnight the theme is Fair and Square. I am sharing a card that I made using a fabulous butterfly image from the Gecko Galz.

I create a background using Twisted Citron, Shaded Lilac and Cracked Pistachio distress inks. Smooching them on, spritzing with water and then over stamping script using Shaded Lilac.

I’ve layered up two butterflies, which come from this months Curiosity Shop kit. I stuck one on flat and then shaped the second to layer over the top and give some dimension. I’ve added yellow gems down the centre of its body.

To add texture I’ve used some purple net/tulle and made a little arrangement of glittery mesh, a scrap of fabric and a coordinating paper rose.

I happened to have a strip of ribbon that was just perfect to finish it all off.

Check out the inspiration from the rest of the DT by buzzing over to Crafty Boots. My pal Dionne has been whipping up some fabulous cards, including a beautiful birthday card she made for yours truly.

Thanks for buzzing by.
