So here we are, the final day of my blogiversary project in support of Amy and Friends. That means you have just one day left to enter my giveaway. Scroll up to the top of my home page to read all about how you can enter and win a pile of crafty stash.
As you know, the theme of the current challenge over at Sunday Stampers is diamonds. I decided to have a second bash with something very different from yesterday’s tag. I am also sharing this over at Craft Room Challenge who have a fun tic-tac-toe theme (I’ve chosen blue, stamping and butterfly):
You’re probably wondering where the diamonds are. You’ll have to trust me on this one, they are there! I love these mini canvases and I have found a new arty product to play with which I’m very excited about. It’s texture paste that has little glass beads in. As I’ve never used this before I just had to play and see what happened. It seems that the paste acts like any other clear texture paste, it goes on white and then dries clear, but the texture is made up of lots of little clear glass beads.
I’ve dabbed on a bit of distress ink over the top, but I’m guessing you can mix this with colour, mica powders and will probably look good with colour applied underneath. I can’t wait to play with it a bit more. Now about those diamonds…
… can you see them now? I applied silver and gold texture pastes through a stencil, over the top of the beads. In real life they do look a bit more diamond like. I wish I’d tried stamping some diamonds underneath the beads now!
I stamped some matching butterflies and coloured them with distress inks.
The words were printed out on the computer and lightly coloured with more distress ink. The gold canvas has a smidge of washi tape.
This is not the last you will see of butterflies – check out my special Amy and Friends page to see what’s coming up! Once again thank you to all those of you that have helped me celebrate my blogiversary, supported Amy and Friends, left comments or subscribed to my blog. I’ve loved every moment of the past year and having your support makes it extra special. xx 🙂
