Inspired by the lovely Hels Sheridan, I’m currently enjoying messing (technical term) with different colours of distress ink to create backgrounds for projects. It’s a very hard habit to break. Here’s my latest tag, one of my DT projects for The Gecko Galz, which I will be linking up with Sunday Stampers where the theme is “nature.”
I used a manilla tag and used Worn Lipstick, Broken China and Peacock Feather’s distress inks. Once the ink was applied, I spritzed water over it for a mottled effect and also flicked some large droplets on too. I used black Archival ink to stamp some little flowers at the bottom.
The butterfly inchies are from The Gecko Galz Papillion Jewels collection. I’ve mounted them on some chipboard, which I painted pink, and then coated with Rock Candy Crackle Paint. I popped a piece of braid underneath before glueing them to the tag.
The bow is made from seam binding that I coloured with Worn Lipstick distress stain. The finishing touch was to add some white highlights to the stamped flowers with a white gel pen.
