Butterfly blues

Once again I am coming in very close to the wire with my project for this week’s Sunday Stampers challenge which is to include stitching, either real or faux, in your project.

Absolutely no chance of my doing some real sewing so for this I used one of my Prima stitched border stamps which does the job very nicely.

I’ve layered book pages with an inked and stamped background, I used a distressing tool on each layer and then inked with Walnut Stain and Vintage Photo. The inky/stamped background is a combination of Shaded Lilac and Broken China which has then been spritzed with water before adding a little more ink. I used a variety of stamps and the same two colours to build up depth before stamping the stitching and the butterfly in Chipped Sapphire.

The flowers were made using a Heartfelt creations vintage flower die to cut vanilla coloured cardstock,I inked them with Vintage Photo before spritzing with water and crunching up. The edges of the petals have been rolled around a wooden kebab skewer.

The ribbon is white seam binding that I’ve coloured with Shaded Lilac and Chipped Sapphire distress inks.

Hope you have the most fantastic weekend and thanks for buzzing by.
