Butterflies with soul

Where’s the sun gone???? There was me looking forward to catching a few rays in the garden. It clearly is very sunny, as it’s still very hot, but it’s hiding under some clouds.

Today I have a little mixed media square to share with you. It’s bigger than a twinchie but doesn’t quite make it to thrinchie!

I started with a piece of card that had a faux woodgrain card and ran it through the Grand Calibur in an M’Bossabilities folder. it was then buffed with Vintage Photo distress ink and gold and red gilding waxes. None of those details are very easy to see in the photo’

I’ve cut a scallop circle from a piece of music manuscript and then layered on some washi tape and this beautiful turquoise butterfly which is from The Gecko Galz Butterfly Wings ephemera set.

I decided to top the butterfly with a small paper rosebud.

The words were printed off from my computer and then coloured with Brushed Corduroy distress stain. I’d seen these on a piece over on Pinterest and decided they were just so apt, and very poignant,  for Amy and Friends.

I can feel a series of these little cards coming on – they may be a good way to use up lots of leftovers.

  1. Adore how you used up little pieces of this and that. Music disk is perfect on it. You never fail to amaze me. Hope that cloud went away.

  2. Amazing, especially when you consider how tiny this is, great work Mrs B.

I was only thinking the other day that it was time I tried to do another twinchie, I had not consider a butterfly motif!

    • Ha ha – I can only think of butterflies as you know, glad you’re not completely brainwashed by my project!!!

I really appreciate it when people take time to leave a comment, thank you so much for doing so :)
