There’s a slight twist for the challenge over at Sunday Stampers this week in that your project must be something that you can hang. I decided to use one of my little chunky hanging boards from Paperartsy to create this little piece.
I gave the board a coat of gesso and then used a leafy stencil and some clear texture paste to create the base. As the stencil is only a thin strip I did multiple layers of stencilling, allowing each layer to dry before adding the next. This also stopped it form looking too uniform.
Once dry I used a variety of mica powders to add colour.
Having stamped, painstakingly coloured and cut out a whole bunch of acorns I decided they didn’t look right and decided to go with the butterflies instead.
The base of the board is decorated with ivory crochet lace, paper roses in autumnal colours, green berries and punched branches. The leaves were stamped, coloured with Promarkers and cut out. I even managed to sneak in a little acorn charm.
I’ve made another little arrangement in the top corner.
The finishing touch was to add some streamers of brown ribbon and secure them with a tiny blue button.
Thanks for buzzing by.
gorgeous, love those textures and the butterflies…. now then… I have heard some excuses for not watching me on the telly but cooking pancakes in front of 100’s of peoples ain’t good enough… ROFL Just kidding hun, rather you than me lol Thanks for joining in with the Sunday sTamper x
I know what I would rather be doing but I just don’t think work would be too understanding. I will record you for later – your audience will be HUGE for sure but probably best not to eat what you make – unless you’re demoing the cake pop cooker. x
Beautiful Mrs B. The Blue butterflies are a perfect contrast against the coppery tones of your textured hanging and the roses and berries look lovely.
