Down with the brown

Before I show you today’s project, let me tell you about tomorrow. The organisation I work for is holding its annual Cookathon. This is when we try, through our cooking clubs, to get as many people as possible to cook on the same day. This year, for the first time, we are opening up it up to everyone and there’s a chance to win a prize too. This year’s recipe is a healthy Easy Peasy pizza. If you fancy joining in you can find all the details here. If you decide to join in the fun then do let me know 🙂

The new challenge over at Sunday Stampers is “brown.” I got good and inky making this tag:

P1070838

This tag started life as kraft card and I coloured it by spritzing on yellow, orange and brown Dylusions ink.

P1070840

Once dry I added stamping and stencilling using distress inks.

P1070843

 P1070842

The butterfly is the Swallowtail stamp from Stampin’ Up! stamped on cream card using vintage photo. To give it a bit of depth and definition I’ve used a black Stabilo All pencil. The word was printed on my computer. I’ve just downloaded some fabulous typewriter fonts from Da Font.

P1070841

I’ve used a scrap of leftover music manuscript, from the Teresa Collins paper pack, across the bottom and topped it with some ivory organza rose trim.

P1070847

To finish it all off I’ve added a scrap of lace and a metal brad.

 Thanks for buzzing by.

  1. This is gorgeous, I love how you mounted the butterfly partially on the tag, and the font looks awesome, I will have to look for that one! Enjoy your cooking day, those cupcakes looked pretty good with beetroot too. ~Diane

    • Thanks Diane – I think it’s going to be hectic. I have to oversee a photoshoot and the brief is enormous, so many rules to check and it will be my fault if they are not adhered to!!!!

  2. I like this very much. The brad and lace through the tag top is a lovely addition, as are the torn paper edge and partial rose border under the butterfly. You have a definite knack for using details that add to the look of the project without being over the top. I love your style!

  3. Wow, look at that, my favourite butterfly stamp, no matter what you do with it, it always looks handsome, just like this tag. Really great job and I looove your big brad.

How I wish I could join in your cookathon today, it sounds fun and I have never made a pizza from scratch. Good luck.

    • Thank you. Finally managed to pluck up the courage and take it out of the box!! I am totally pizza’d out and not a slice has passed my lips!! Thinking of you xx

  4. ok, so here goes with the last attempt at leaving you a comment… bombarded or ignored? whichever, I sorry, I thinks WordPress hates me lol Thanks for joining in with the Sunday Stamper x BTW… STUNNING!!!

    • Soz you have had so much trouble and thanks for persisting – you will be rewarded. I know you are good at commenting.
