The new challenge over at City Crafter Challenge Blog has this photo’ to use as inspiration:

Screen shot 2013-10-01 at 12_24_06 AMBeautiful colours and, in my opinion, a slight spring or summer feel to it. So here’s what I came up with:

P1060309I can squeeze Christmas, or in this case a flurry of snowflakes out of anything! When I first looked at the photo’ I saw the plates on the wall and they reminded me of my lovely creamy buttons. I did end up using one, but perhaps not in the way I’d intended!

The background is pale blue card and some paper from The Gecko Galz Little Miss Muffett paper collection. That dreamy, creamy ribbon is from Really Reasonable Ribbon.

The snowflakes were created using a Sizzix die and stamp set. I stamped, using blue ink, onto cream and blue card. I used spray adhesive to stick them to the backing paper.

The finishing touch was to add pearls to the centre of the snowflakes and then, because I could, I added a few in between.

P1060327I don’t believe for one moment that I could replicate this on a larger scale as it took an awful lot of faffing persuading the snowflakes to leave the die. I clearly need to invest in some wax paper. However, this would make a lovely card for a winter birthday, or just as a Christmas card for someone special.

Thanks for buzzing by.
