As you know, I am a huge fan of The Graphics Fairy and spend a lot of time browsing through the fantastic  images that Karen so generously provides for free.  However, it never fails to amaze me that just I think I’ve viewed all the images for a particular theme I come across one, often by chance, that I’ve never seen before. And so it was with this gorgeous little acorn that I’ve used in my project today:

The original image has a picture inside the oval but I decided I wanted to use just the acorn as a little frame for an autumnal scene. I’ve used a tiny little jewellery box and covered it inside and out with some Bo Bunny papers. I added a little moss to the base of the box and then added some punched branches, autumn Flowersoft and the squirrel which is also a Graphics’ Fairy image.

Can you see the little acorn (button) that he’s clutching? The banner is part of the original image and I simply added some text to it and printed it out separately.

For the acorn frame I printed out two, cut out the centres and then glued them back to back before attaching to the box. I added glitter to the top part and then added a little toadstool and an autumn coloured flower to the outside to complete the autumn look. A little more Flowersoft just finishes it all off.

If you like this image as much as I do then do pop back on Sunday when I will be sharing another project that I have made for the current Anything But A Card challenge. I will of course be linking up both projects for The Graphics Fairy Brag Monday linky party, but let’s not think about that just yet because today it’s Friday – hurray!

Thanks for buzzing by.

  1. These autumn projects are beautiful! You really managed to capture the autumn feel into these ones, and I love how you put everything together!

  2. It feels more like winter here today, but your gorgeous Secret Squirrel is a reminder of autumn with all of these rich colours and fabulous embellishments.
