Birds of a feather

Another ridiculous o’clock start for me today and it’s only Monday. I don’t know what I was thinking organising something for first thing Monday that is located about as far north as you can go in Yorkshire when I live about as far South as you can go. Monday morning madness I call it.

Today I am sharing another altered paint tin which is, of course, going to the Brag Monday linky party over at The Graphics Fairy.

I covered the tin with some Anna Griffin paper and a matching border trim. I chose two lovely bird images from the huge selection over at The Graphics Fairy, cut them out and then edged them with Vintage Photo distress ink.

The first bird has a cute little nest made from a random twig and some Icelandic moss.

Birdie number two is perched on a little branch with a small paper blossom. I even cut round his claws so that they would grip the branch.

Underneath the nest is a white paper carnation and a stray feather.

Round the other side I used this lovely sheet music image and my favourite toadstool image which all come courtesy of The Graphics Fairy.

I printed the words off on my computer and edged them with more VIntage Photo. The finishing touch was to add green mini pom-pom trim around the base of the tin.

This was such fun to do and as the nights are now drawing in, I have an idea for a winter version of this.

Although I’ve had an early start, I do at least have a treat to look forward to this evening. It is youngest son’s leaving do at college and I am his invited guest. As they are all trainee chefs I’m sure the food will be good. However, the rules about what I can and can’t say and do are growing by the minute I’m not sure I’ll be able to remember them! Parents are supposed to embarrass their children, it’s in our genes right?

  1. Oh wow, you have certainly pulled all the stops out for this one, it looks amazing. I love how the little bird is sitting on the twig.

Have fun this evening and make sure you behave.
