Back to school

When my children were of school age I think I was unusual in that I always felt quite sad as the end of the long summer holidays drew closer. I enjoyed having them at home and we usually had lots of fun. What used to really irritate me was “back to school” adverts that often appeared before they had even begun the summer break!

There is a back to school theme in the inspiration picture for this week’s challenge over at Papercraft Star

And here’s my interpretation:

I am also sharing this over at Really Reasonable Ribbon for their Back to School and Ribbon challenge #79. This card uses a lovely school room image from The Graphics Fairy. I’ve layered it with a piece  book page, black carstock, red spotty paper and an advertising image from The Gecko Galz .

I’ve added white crochet lace and red spotty ribbon, both from one of my Really Reasonable Ribbon Club selections.

I’ve topped the bow with a white button and some red and white baker’s twine. The little ABC letters are from The Graphics Fairy. I’ve punched them out and topped them with a clear epoxy domed sticker.

The finishing touch was a little rosebud.

Hope that if you have gone back to school in the last few weeks, especially if you are a teacher, that the beginning of term has been a peaceful one 🙂 Thanks for buzzing by.
