Autumn Twinchie

Well the last two days have been hectic to say the least and I’m ready for a sit down, but somehow I don’t think that’s going to happen anytime soon. On Friday I was at the Sheffield Food Festival all day cooking mini pancakes and our scrummy Quick Boston Baked Beans. It also saw the launch of our new website, Let’s Get Cooking @ Home, where you can now find all our recipes plus lots of other useful information about cooking at home and with children.

On Saturday I travelled over to Chester for the Amy and Friends annual retreat. It was a privilege to be there and to meet many of the families and the fantastic volunteers. The highlight for me was to finally get to meet Scarlett Clay, her beautiful daughters and the adorable Knox. I even got to have a cuddle with him! Sadly, the one thing I forgot to do was take my camera with me. I’m hoping that Scarlett will send me some photo’s. But you can have a look at the Amy and Friends Facebook page to see lots of photo’s from the day.

By today I was ready to sleep, but somehow, with the sun shining outside that didn’t seem quite right and I have crafted a little something to share with you.

I did warn you it was little! This is a little autumn twinchie that I will be sharing over at Show Us Your Twinchies. To start, I made the basic twinchie from a piece of cereal box  and stuck white card over the print. I used distress inks in autumnal colours to create the background, giving it a spritz of water once all the ink was applied.

I created a little shadow frame by punching out branches and leaves from autumnal coloured card then added in  some tiny red berries.

The squirrel is an image from The Graphics Fairy.

The finishing touch was to add a couple of teeny tiny acorn buttons in the corner. Typically, just as I thought Autumn was well and truly here, we are experiencing an Indian summer! Enjoy it whilst it lasts. Thanks for buzzing by.

  1. Beautiful autumnal colours. Although today has been warmer than of late, it feels like autumn is here and, for me, your fabulous twinchie sums up this time of year.

    • I love seeing the autumn colours arrive and enjoying the darker nights too! I was a bit put out by the sunshine today as I want to snuggle!! x

I really appreciate it when people take time to leave a comment, thank you so much for doing so :)
