Hope you are having a relaxing Monday and are not getting caught out by April Fools tricks. I make it my mission on the 1st of every month to pinch and punch everyone in our household, very gently of course. Youngest son is usually cued in to what I’m up to so it helped that he has had several late nights in a row and therefore suffering from lack of sleep. However, April 1st is special and I do like to catch at least one person out with a trick if I can.
Today, I again have more than one project to share with you and as it’s Monday, they both have images from The Graphics Fairy. First up, are the Easter cards I made. I only send a few but as I’m usually making them at the last minute I still try and keep it simple:
The Easter image looks like stamping and Karen has very kindly provided three different colour ways. As you know I can never choose so opted to make cards using all three colours, which then meant I had to choose a colour for each recipient which was just as hard.
I mounted the images on coordinating spotty paper and simply added a coordinating rose and bakers twine bow. I didn’t have a matching rose for the green image so used a Tea Green Promarker to colour a white one instead. I would normally go for pink as may favourite every time, but on this occasion I think I like the green the best.
My second card is the one I made for Mr Beez.
I think I may have mentioned that Mr Beez is a Tottenham Hotspur fan (I know – me neither!) so this beautiful cockerel image from The Graphics Fairy was perfect. I layered it up on some aqua spotted paper and sand coloured card and popped on some brads.
I ran a strip of jute, topped with aqua seam binding, across the bottom of the card. I punched out some fronds, which are meant to look a bit like a nest and sat the eggs on top. No card for Mr Beez would be complete without a heart so I added a little blue heart-shaped gem.
I am going to link these both up for the Brag Monday party over at The Graphics Fairy.
Sadly, I have to report that my April Fools’ trick failed miserably. So tiptoeing out in the snow, wearing my PJs, to harvest a leek was not the best use of my time maybe? 🙂
