Meet the Grandmothers

Today I am sharing a piece that I made as a 3D scrapbook

I am sharing this over at City Crafter Challenge Blog for this week’s theme, which is a peachy colour theme, and at Papercraft Star which has a “beauty” theme.

So, let me introduce my two grandmothers – on the left is Emma Kate Terry (nee Waller) who, you may remember, featured on my scrapbook page – The Waller Family. She is my paternal grandmother, known to me as Nanna. I was her only grandaughter (my Dad was an only child) and I have many happy memories of time spent with her and my Grandad who both spoiled me dreadfully.

On the right, is Brenda Gwendolynne Harland (nee Boddy), my maternal grandmother, known as Granny Brenda. My Mum was one of four and so there were a lot of grandchildren – 11 in total, sadly she never got to see her great grandchildren who now total 17.

The base is an old cardboard ribbon spool that I covered with paper and images from The Gecko Galz. I decorated it with an assortment of peach, pink and cream roses, a snippet of lace and a pearl.

The photo’s themselves were mounted on to papers from The Gecko Galz Wild Roses collection. Then I cut out images from the papers and applied them on top to create corners and accents.  The labels were printed out on my computer and edged with Vintage Photo distress ink. I did try to include the two grandfathers but it looked two clumsy. They will have to have their own special display.

I’m so glad I created this as, despite having a close relationship with both grandmothers, until now I never had any pictures of them on display.
