One of the very first projects I did for the Sunday Stampers challenge were two little altered matchboxes featuring my Tim Holtz magpie stamp:

Altered Matchboxes - Shiny chic and Shabby chic

Altered Matchboxes – Shiny chic and Shabby chic

So it seems appropriate that my final  (and Hels I promise I do mean final project inspired by Sunday Stamper’s should also feature it:

Both of these were made with stuff that was to hand. For the larger canvas I used a piece of paper that I created from one of the Gecko Galz Heart and Soul digital stamps as the  background. I also used a piece of scrap from one 7Gypsies Conservatory papers and then added a little real life twig from the collection I gathered in the snow the her day. The bird, from Bo Bunny, was stamped on to card, cut out, glittered and then stuck on using 3D foam. I added a little feather for its wing. The finishing touches were a little paper flower,  a pearl and the words which say ” the wings of music”.

For the “twinchie” I used some book paper and music manuscript to create the background, then stamped the magpie directly on to this. It’s always a  gamble to do this and I have to say the magpie didn’t come out as well as it could have. So I stamped it again, this time onto plain card, cut out just the body of the magpie and stuck this to the original image. I stamped the word “tweet,  added a little ivory button and the tiniest bit of gold tinsel. The finishing touch was some champagne mica glitter.

You can probably tell I’ve had great fun with all the little birdie projects, thank you Hels for the inspiration.

Tonight, myself and Mr Beez are off to a Burn’s Night celebration with bagpipes and haggis and everything. As Burn’s Night isn’t until tomorrow, I’m trying to think of a little Scottish themed something I can make. Any ideas?

Thanks for buzzing by.
