Lavender’s blue…

Lavender is the theme over at Every Inchie Monday this week. Now I love lavender, but it doesn’t love me – it makes me sneeze! So I like to look at lavender from a distance and appreciate the colour rather than catch a whiff of it’s soothing scent. My inchies this reflect that in that I have used the colour rather than the plant itself:

Having Milled Lavender distress ink and a lavender Promarker I was all set! Any pink tinge you can see was created by using a little Spun Sugar in the mix.

For the toadstool I used a Hero Arts frond stamp and Mowed Lawn distress ink adding in some pink Promarker and white highlights with a gel pen

The flower stamps and dragon fly are also by Hero Arts.

As ever, the creativity and imagination by the other players is amazing so be sure to buzz over to Every Inchie Monday and enjoy this miniature works of art and if you’ve time, why not play along too?

Thanks for buzzing by.

  1. I too love the colour lavender, in fact I am a big fan of anything in the purple range. Your inchies look fabulous, such good use of different shades of lavender and pretty images.

    • Thank you. Although the smell of lavender makes me sneeze I have eaten lavender custard and also had lavender sorbet with a chocolate dessert – it was very, very nice.

  2. Awe, your title has reminded me of an old nursery rhyme – ‘Lavenders blue Dilly-Dilly, Lavenders Green. When you are King Dilly-Dilly I shall be Queen’ Beautiful inchies xxx

    • It was in my head the whole time Karen and I was singing it, driving myself mad!!! Thank you for you lovely comments πŸ™‚

    • Thank you. Yes, it’s only lavender that makes me sneeze – my eyes don’t water or anything like that either!!

  3. I love the color of lavender, that tints from dark to lighter purple are great, well I understand what allergy means, so just cover them with a glass jar πŸ™‚ I remember my granny loved drying flowers and keep them in a glass jar as a deco on the shelves.

    • Love the idea of covering them up with glass!!! Shame, because I have eaten lavender flavoured things with no ill effects!

    • Thanks Annette – I am a bit of a stamp addict, but I treat them appallingly. Managing to find the one I want is no mean feat but I usually uncover a few oldies I’d forgotten about too. πŸ™‚

I really appreciate it when people take time to leave a comment, thank you so much for doing so :)
