Follow the Yellow Brick road

This week’s word at Every Inchie Monday is “road.” Naturally, I thought of one of the most famous roads of all!

I used squares of yellow card and then used a tan water colour pencil to draw on the bricks, using a water brush to soften the lines. This created a much better effect than the thin black Sharpie pen I started with.

The words were printed off on my computer, together with the rainbow, witch’s hat and Emerald City.

Naturally, The Emerald City has a coating of green glitter.

And the Ruby Slippers are coated in red glitter. The image is from the Graphic 45 paper pad, but being loathe to cut into a sheet of paper just for one paper of shoes I used the picture from the pad’s cover!

The little poppies were made from a double layer of punched blossoms and topped with black faux pearls.

One day I will be the proud owner of a pair or ruby slippers!
