Last week you will remember that I had a little hiccup with my second project that I wanted to submit for the Crafty Boots challenge? Today I’ve finally managed to do what I’d originally attended. Oddly, it all came together today whereas on Sunday it just wasn’t happening. “Ah!” I hear you say “But aren’t you too late?”. Well here’s the thing! I thought I’d use the stamps I’d planned to use, but in a little project for the challenge at Sunday Stampers – Autumn/Fall. Then a light bulb moment – make a tag and then it will qualify for Crafty Boots challenge – Tag or Invite. Yipee, I love it when a plan comes together. Except, of course, it wasn’t planned.
I started by inking the tag using a huge number of distress inks. One good thing was that I finally got around to labelling my sponges so now I know which to use. Then I stamped the background using one of the lovely leafy border stamps by Dylusions. I coloured the leaves with more ink. Next, I stamped the little house onto paper and used a brush and distress inks to coloured it. The I cut it our and stuck it to the tag.
I used a couple of Tando leaves, coloured them with ink, dabbed randomly with gold ink and then dusted with embossing powder. Now these came out beautifully, little touches of gold here and there, but the camera hasn’t picked it up. I added a little moss along the bottom of the tag, some berries and an acorn – all from my stash. The finishing touches were a prima flower – dyed with ink and given a purple button centre and a coppery coloured bow.
Love the set of little houses stamps. I’ll let you into a secret too. The Dylusions border stamps – I’d forgotten I had them. Now is that really funny or really shocking?
