Autumn Tag and getting there in the end

Craft packages ordered=2, craft packages received =1

Last week you will remember that I had a little hiccup with my second project that I wanted to submit for the Crafty Boots challenge? Today I’ve finally managed to do what I’d originally attended. Oddly, it all came together today whereas on Sunday it just wasn’t happening. “Ah!” I hear you say “But aren’t you too late?”. Well here’s the thing! I thought I’d use the stamps I’d planned to use, but in a little project for the challenge at Sunday Stampers – Autumn/Fall.  Then a light bulb moment – make a tag and then it will qualify for Crafty Boots challenge – Tag or Invite. Yipee, I love it when a plan comes together. Except, of course, it wasn’t planned.

I started by inking the tag using a huge number of distress inks. One good thing was that I finally got around to labelling my sponges so now I know which to use.  Then I stamped the background using one of the lovely leafy border stamps by Dylusions. I coloured the leaves with more ink. Next, I stamped the little house onto paper and used a brush and distress inks to coloured it.  The I cut it our and stuck it to the tag.

I used a couple of Tando leaves, coloured them with ink, dabbed randomly with gold ink and then dusted with embossing powder. Now these came out beautifully, little touches of gold here and there, but the camera hasn’t picked it up. I added a little moss along the bottom of the tag, some  berries and an acorn – all from my stash. The finishing touches were a prima flower – dyed with ink and given a purple button centre and a coppery coloured bow.

Love the set of little houses stamps. I’ll let you into a secret too. The Dylusions border stamps – I’d forgotten I had them. Now is that really funny or really shocking?

  1. I am so pleased we have not been denied this project, the toadstool house is fab and I adore all the embellishments, especially your acorn and flower … gorgeous.

Thank you for sharing your work with all of us at Crafty Boots Challenges.

  2. Your tag is so cute, love the little house and the decos you put on bottom of tag. So pretty.
A few weeks ago I was attempting to clean up my studio and, how fun, I found lots of things I forgot I had. Worth the work. Now if I can just remember where I put everything, did some rearranging. Still have one shelf over my desk I haven’t attempted yet so who knows what might be lurking up there. Been too lazy to tackle that one. I have spells of dizziness so have to wait til I won’t have as much chance of falling to attempt that one. Such fun getting older.

    • So envious if you’re sorting things! I’d like to think I craft in organised chaos but I think most people would say it’s just chaos!!!

I really appreciate it when people take time to leave a comment, thank you so much for doing so :)
