Agatha in Narnia

One of my New Year crafting resolutions was to get back into the swing of entering blog challenges on a regular basis, something that proved difficult last year when I was working away from home so often.  One challenge firmly in my sights was the Stampotique Designers Challenge. I was very excited when I saw that the first challenge(SDC#226) of the year, set by Claudine, was trees. This gave me the opportunity to craft something that had been rolling around in my head ever since I bought Stampotique’s Lampost stamp:

The Narnia books, the Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe in particular, are one of my all time favourites and as a child I spent more than a normal amount of time in a wardrobe trying to make it to the magic land itself! When I first visualised creating  this scene I had intended to add antlers to one of the existing Agathas. Then the brilliant Magda Polakow designed Agatha Antlers – perfect! The trees in my scene are from a Tim Holtz Alterations matching stamp and die set.

The words are from my original copy of the book which I have photocopied and enlarged.

For colour I used everything in my stash – distress inks, Polychromos and Promarkers. I’ve also used a little snow paint for texture.

Thanks for buzzing by.
