I seem to be struggling at the moment not to make projects in pairs. Today I have two projects that I made simultaneously – I kept dithering about which I preferred and therefore complete so in the end I finished them both!
I think I probably like the card best which is funny as this started off as a tag that I promptly abandoned. Here’s how they were done, starting with the tag that stayed a tag!
I started by embossing some white card and then smooshing over it with Victorian Velvet and Seedless Preserves distress inks. I used a bit of Cut ‘n’ Dry Foam to do this. Then I cut the tag shape (I have an old tag that acts as a template) and created further layers from coordinating purple cardstock and white card.
I used Sizzix dies to cut a butterfly – I’ve cut two from purple card (one solid and one filigree) and a white one that I dusted with Victorian Velvet. I’ve used a coordinating paper rose in the centre.
Along the bottom of the tag I’ve used three kinds of white lace and popped on a matching bow. The flower was stamped in Seedless Preserves, dusted with Victorian Velvet and topped with a button.
The card was made using the same embossing folder, but this time I inked it with Spun Sugar, Worn Lipstick, Victorian Velvet and Seedless Preserves. I inked it on the flat side before popping in some white card and running it through my Grand Calibur.
I’ve mounted it on purple card. The flowers were stamped, punched and inked as before. I created some stalks from thin strips of green card, added in a punched leaf and topped it with a coordinating bow.
I couldn’t resist adding a little bee and I love the little pop of yellow she adds.
I’m linking this up with Craft Hoarders Anonymous Challenge Blog for challenge #12, Who’s the Boss.
Thanks for buzzing by.
