Summer Sunflowers

Another Monday and the prospect of another tough week ahead. I shall shortly be setting off on my travels but before I go I am sharing my DT project for the new challenge over at Crafty Boots Challenges where the theme for the next fortnight is flowers:

I have used this Stampotique large sunflower stamp quite a lot but not, until now, in traditional sunflower colours. Naturally, I had to team it with a bee.

The background is Tumbled Glass and Salty Ocean distress inks which I’ve swooshed on with a brush and then spritzed with water. I’ve then overstamped using the Ryn seabubbles stamp with white ink and a speckled stamp using more Tumbled Glass. Then I stamped the bee and flowers in black.

I’ve paper pieced the sunflowers, first stamping on to white card, colouring them with Promarkers, cutting out and applying over the original image on the background. There’s a touch of Vintage Photo Stickles on the centres of the flowers.

The bee was paper pieced using the same technique with a little glitter added to the wings.

Make sure you buzz over to Crafty Boots Challenges and see what the rest of the DT have been up to and I hope you’ll be able to share your flowery projects with us over the next fortnight.

Thanks for buzzing by and have a great week.

  1. I was definitely bee-coming happy when I saw your card, love your sunflowers (see that’s on my wish list) and the glitter on your bee’s wig is just perfect! 😉

  2. Awesome Mrs Beez. Fabulous background and I really love the way you have used your sunflower and bee stamps.

Have a good week, don’t let it get you down.
