Something for the Lady

Monday again and this week sees me back on the road for work once again. By the time you are reading this I will be on my way to Edinburgh again where I shall be spending the week working and cooking with some lovely foster carers. It’s also a busy week on the crafting front as we kick of with a new challenge – “Something for the Lady,” over at Crafty Boots Challenges. This Sunday it will be Mothering Sunday here in the UK but for our challenge you can submit any female themed project. I have created a birthday card for a friend of mine who will be celebrating tomorrow:

I would also like to share this card over at City Crafter Challenge Blog where the theme chosen by the lovely Stella is Polka Dots. I have used a honeycomb/hexagon die and layered it, using foam pads, over some yellow and white polka dot paper from Stampin’ Up! Before layering, I stamped a little bumble bee on some of the solid pieces.

I used some pretty green gingham ribbon and then created a little arrangement of punched leaves and mini sweetheart blossoms. The blossoms are from Wild Orchid Crafts.

I should warn you I have posted this a little earlier this morning, because of my imminent travels, so you may have to be patient before you buzz over to the Crafty Boots Challenge BlogΒ and see the delights that are waiting there.

If you’d like to see the details of the card below, click on the photo.’

Thanks for buzzing by.

  1. I think the crafting goddess must have been sitting on your shoulder recently because you’re cards have been stunning, this is another beautiful one. I love anything with polka dots and this one looks fabulous with the honeycomb overlay, I think the little bees are inspired. The gingham ribbon and country flowers finish it perfectly.

I hope you have a good week, hurry home.

  2. Oh, what a super card–I love the way you placed the die over that perfect background paper and stamped the bees on the solid pieces. You are very clever, and your friend is very lucky!

I really appreciate it when people take time to leave a comment, thank you so much for doing so :)
