Snowy with a hint of summer sun

It’s the midway point in our “use a sentiment” challenge over at Crafty Boots Challenges and the DT have created some new projects to inspire you. Buzz over to take a look and whilst you’re there you can link up your own project 🙂

Yesterday, Mr Beez and I were on the early morning airport run giving a lift to youngest Beez and his girlfriend. It was unbelievably cold and the sleet eventually turned to snow but not the settling kind. How lucky to be jetting off to warmer climes. Originally full of good intentions to carry on with my major clear-up I decided instead that it was a day to snuggle up in front of the fire and do very little other than reach for a hot drink and the biscuit tin. However, the coziness was marred by a mega injustice on the football pitch that led to my having a major sulk! So I took myself off and indulged in a little stamping to chase the blues away.

In need of a card for a friend whose birthday is imminent I opted for a single layer that would be easy to post. Knowing that, unlike me, most people are craving a bit of sun, I thought I’d create the feel of warm summer days to come. The sentiment stamp is freebie fromCraft Stamper Magazine and I’ve combined it with two Stampotique classics.

I’ve used Promarkers to colour in the sunflower and Squeezed Lemonade, Ripe Persimmon and Picked Raspberry distress inks for the splatters, using a mask to protect the sunflower.

I have another super busy week ahead of me but I’m hoping to schedule some posts for later in the week so I keep in touch.

Thanks for buzzing by.

    • Thank you. Sadly I won’t be seeing much of my craft room this week because a) I have a busy week with events and b) it’s disappeared under all my stash!!!! xx

  1. I have come down to the studio with a wonderful story about beekeeping buzzing around in my head to find your wonderful card. I hope the sun does start to shine for you soon and the bees get busy doing what they do so perfectly.

I really appreciate it when people take time to leave a comment, thank you so much for doing so :)
