Mellow Yellow

We are having a run of warm sunny days here in the UK. I’m actually leaving the house in the morning without a coat! Sunshine is the order of the day over at City Crafter Challenge Blog too, where the team would like us to use lots of yellow in our projects. At the moment I am having fun playing with stamps, inks, stencils and paint and this card has it all. Well, nearly all as there isn’t any paint!

Did I mention there was also a bee? The background was stencilled using Squeezed Lemonade and Mustard Seed distress inks. There’s a little Fossilised Amber around the edges.

I stamped the bee and the crown (both by Stampotique) and then coloured them with Poloychromos. I paper pieced the bee’s wings.

Next, I stamped Stampotique’s sunflower. That has also been coloured with Polychromos, the flower head being paper pieced.

Here’s hoping you have a very sunny weekend and thanks for buzzing by.

  1. There are just so many of my favourite elements in this card. The bee and honeycomb background go together like a strawberries and cream, and the daisy stamp looks just perfect sitting there.

    Well done Queen Bee.

  2. Seeing your name in the thumbnails I already smile:). And again… nailed our theme. Lisette your card is stunning; I am in awe of that honeycomb background. The bee, crown and flower are a perfect match and addition to this gem. Thanks so much for joining us at CCCB! Good to see you again 🙂

I really appreciate it when people take time to leave a comment, thank you so much for doing so :)
