Honey, honey

The challenge at Sunday Stampers this week is to use embossing powders. Here’s my first go:

As you know, I am thoroughly enjoying playing with distress inks to make backgrounds so here was the perfect excuse to do just that. Having learned from previous mistakes, I stamped and heat embossed first, onto white card using one of my ever growing collection of bee stamps – this one is from Chocolate Baroque.

P1040345Once cool I used Scattered Straw, Mustard Seed, Wild Honey and Spiced Marmalade distress inks with just a touch of Seedless Preserves around the edge, then spritzed with water.

I stamped some flowers ( stamps by Sheena Douglass) on to Japanese rice paper using black Archival ink and then used the same distress inks, plus some Ripe Persimmon, to colour the flowers.

The main image has been layered onto black card and then onto a square white card. The finishing touch was to add a chit-chat sticker.
