Today I am sharing a card that I’ve made for the current Sunday Stampers challenge which has the theme of “squares.” Consequently, I’ve spent a great deal of time singing “Hip to be Square,” which you may remember was a hit for Huey Lewis and the News.
My squares are in the form of twinchies and I’ve used the very first stamp I ever owned, a daisy, and my little bee. I really didn’t mean to use the bee at all…honest! I used white card for the squares and then coloured them with distress inks using cut and dry foam. Broken China, Spiced Marmalade, Squeezed Lemonade and Worn Lipstick were my colours of choice.
I used Stazon to stamp the flowers and the bee, then added colour to the flower centres by using Mustard Seed distress ink applied with a brush.
I used a white marker to add the dots to the petals. I mounted the squares on black card before applying to the card. To finish, I added some liquorice baker’s twine.
