This week’s challenge at Sunday Stampers is “friend,” how you interpret it is up to you as long as there is some stamping included. I decided to make an ATC for my friend who is a self-confessed drama queen:
The bee stamp and the words are both from Catslife Press. I so loved that Queen Bee stamp I ordered it in both sizes (this is the smaller one) and had it shipped from the USA. (At this point I will ask you if you could kindly overlook the fact that I have broken my New Year’s resolution – again!) I have to tell you that Catslife Press has fabulous international shipping rates and you have the option of having the stamps unmounted.
I stamped the Queen Bee first and then added the flowers (Hero Arts). I swooshed on distress inks with an Ink Duster using a smidge of Spun Sugar on the face and then Tumbled Glass, Mustard Seed and Peacock Feathers everywhere else. I’ve paper pieced the flowers and leaves to give them some more definition.
Once I was in the groove I couldn’t resist making a second ATC. The words are once again from Catslife Press. For this one I used I first coloured the card using Wild Honey and then added Spiced Marmalade through a honeycomb stencil. The stencil is by Memory Box and the design is distressed. I love how the pattern is captured on the queen’s face. The flowers (Stampotique) were stamped using Mowed Lawn and then I coloured the petals with a white gel pen.
Thanks for buzzing by.
