Why is that, if you are working, Friday just seems to go on forever? Add a Bank Holiday Monday into the mix and it’s even longer! Of course, Tuesday will arrive in a matter of moments and it’ll be nose to the grindstone again!

This week’s challenge at City Crafter Challenge has an interesting twist. You have to use 1 stamp, 2 designer papers and 3 embellishments. You are also allowed cardstock. I love these sorts of challenges but am terrified by the at the same time. I always worry I will infringe the rules in some way. So, here’s my entry:

I’ve used my bee stamp and Vintage Photo distress ink. Love the bee image using this ink – it has a nice vintage feel.

My first designer paper is some newsprint (this is from a designer paper pad, but I can’t remember where from!). This is great as by turning it sideways you get a different pattern.

My three embellishments are two sweetheart blossoms and a piece of ivory crochet lace.

The other designer paper is from my Tim Coffey collection. It the first outing for this particular paper, with lovely vintage bees, and it is the one that  seduced me into buying the pad.

Thank you for buzzing by and enjoy the holiday weekend.

  1. Love the vintage bee from your stamp and bees on the paper. I always seem to gravitate to papers that look old fashioned, vintage. Only thing is then I tend to hoard them, not use them, silly huh
Ooooooh, love that bee and bee paper. I’ll have to see if any of craft stores here have it. We are lucky to have Jo-Ann’s, Michaels, and Hobby Lobby. You have several stores there also don’t you, any that we have? I would so love to be able to visit England.
Gorgeous card, love how you met the challenge.
When I used to go with my hubs trucking I’d be on lookout for craft stores and WalMarts. Have gotten to go into few different craft stores in other parts of country and Canada. We live in the western part of CO in western part of U.S. Have visited several Walmarts all over the country as many of them would be visible from the highways and signs telling about them. We’d load up on sandwich makings and goodies/naughties so we didn’t have to spend so much in truck stops, we carried a cooler.
Hubs used to drive all over U.S. and a great deal of Canada when he drove for the MT company. Happy weekend

    • I am a hoarder too!! It’s only since I’ve been blogging that I’m a bit more free and easy with using papers, but even so I still have panic attacks and don’t use stuff!!Love hearing about your trucking days – sounds fun, except I guess you had to pack light which is not my forte! I don’t think our craft stores live up to what I’ve heard about Hobby Lobby and Michaels. I long to visit US – perhaps we should do a swap?? My eldest son wants to drive across the US but I don’t think he plans on having me for company!!

  2. Love this card, this is you at your best, lots of bees buzzing round, fabulous stamp by the way, and really great DT paper by Tim Coffey (could kill for that stack).

    Love the vintage feel too.

I really appreciate it when people take time to leave a comment, thank you so much for doing so :)
