Brown is the new green

I’m pleased to report that my latest trip away was thankfully uneventful. No intruders, no mice, no ants and no difficult venue managers. The worst thing to happen was that there wasn’t any fried bread for breakfast. I can cope with that kind of problem (get Mr Beez to cook me some at the weekend!)!!

You’ll remember my saying that brown is the new green? Well I’m back with a second project for this week’s Sunday Stampers brown challenge.

Well, when you have your Dylusions out, you’ve got to make getting your fingers mucky worthwhile. This was a bif of an experiment as I wanted to try a different type of background. It didn’t go exactly to plan, but I’m pretty pleased with how it turned out. I used a spiral mask and some brown Dylusions onto cream paper. I held the mask away from the paper to try and get a slightly speckled effect and not too much colour. I used my Gathered Twigs to stamp out the dandelion and the bee. The finishing touch was to add an ivory seam binding bow.

I decided to single mount this, to refelct the simplicity of the images. Usually when I do this I’m not always happy and then go back and layer everything up but this time I feel it has worked.

Whilst I’ve been away, the Easter Bunny seems to have put in an early appearance as I found my fruit bowl brimming with Cadbury’s Creme Eggs. Now that’s what I call a welcome home!

  1. So love the simplicity of this card. The background is especially pretty with the dandelion and bee stamped. So enjoy all you do. Happy spring

I really appreciate it when people take time to leave a comment, thank you so much for doing so :)
