It’s Sunday and that can only mean one thing, time for some Stampotique! The lovely and talented Coby has asked us to use the word “Boo” in our projects for this week’s Stampotique Designers’ Challenge.  Those of you that buzz by here regularly would, quite rightly, expect me to dive in to some Halloween related project but, instead I opted to take a different path. Take a look at my postcard:

I can take no credit for the concept of today’s project, but I have given the idea my own Stampotique twist. A couple of years ago I picked up some free digi stamps that were produced by McMahon Five Designs to support Breast Cancer Awareness month in October. Sadly, the stamps are no longer available but I loved the concept that was created to deliver a super-important message. Each year I think I will make some cards to raise awareness and at the same time raise some money for this fabulous cards, and each year I fail. As my friend is organising a strawberry tea fund raiser at the beginning of July I thought I could make a few of these postcards in addition to whipping up a batch of scones.

I transformed the adorable little Cooper from a ghost to a bee with some appropriate colouring and the addition of wings from the Medium Bee and some hand drawn antennae. I’ve used Carol’s large flower for the blooms.

Wishing you a happy Sunday and thanks for buzzing by.

  1. What a sweet card! Just popped in to say thank you for your kind comment and to wish you and your hubby a very Happy Anniversary!! May you have many more! hugs 🙂

  2. Oh wow, where do I start singing your praises? Fabulous postcard, wonderful colours, great layout. Transforming little ghosts into bees is a brilliant idea, and I should love to know how you made the wings look transparent. Your hand drawn antennae look great.

Raising awareness of breast cancer is so important and your plan to make more postcards for your friends party is a fantastic idea.

    • Thanks Dionne, I wasn’t sure about this one if I’m honest. I don’t know how well it translates! The wings were stamped on regular copy paper and then I coloured them with my expiring Tea Green Promarker and added a top coat of Crystal stickles xx

  3. Oh my days, the title made me laugh so much 🙂 🙂 I love this fab, fun piece with such a serious, caring message. Just brilliant xx

    • Glad it had the desired effect – I’m not sure how well it translates but decided to go for it anyway 🙂 x

I really appreciate it when people take time to leave a comment, thank you so much for doing so :)
