This week’s challenge at City Crafter Challenge Blog is asking you to use fruit and/or a jam jar. Having decided I was going to definitely use a gorgeous pear stamp that I haven’t yet utilised, here’s the card I created for this challenge:
So I went I little off plan and the pear stamp remains in pristine condition! I’ve used a years old strawberry stamp instead and coloured the strawberries with a combination of Polychromos and Promarkers and then cut them out.
I used Squeezed Lemondade distress ink through my Memory Box honeycomb stencil for the background, then die cut some leafy fronds. The little flowers are punched using a Martha Stewart punch and I’ve added gems to the centre.
I love strawberry plants – a fabulous combination of glorious red berries, many hidden away like jewels, and pretty white blossoms. Sadly, we’re coming to the end of the English strawberry season now, but I have got some fabulous jam, made by a friend, that will see its way to topping several freshly baked scones for a few weeks yet!
Thanks for buzzing by.
