Today I am sharing a tag that I have made for this week’s Sunday Stampers challenge which is to include something shiny.
You may at this point be struggling to see the shiny as I have been unusually restrained! For me, this tag was all about the colour blending of the distress inks. Hels had done a couple of cards using Scattered Straw, Seedless Preserves and Mowed Lawn which I loved, so wanted to try them out for myself. I started with a manilla tag and went all over it with Scattered Straw. Next, I went around the edges with Seedless Preserves and then did just the bottom of the tag with Mowed Lawn. I love these colours together. On the original tag I spritzed spots of brown Dylusions over the top, which also looked great but I mucked that one up with the stamping so had to start again. Second time around I decided to stay with the way it was.
I ran a glue pen all the way around the edge and scattered over silver glitter, then stamped the bee and popped a touch of crystal clear glitter on its wings.
I’ve used some lovely fabric daisies from Wild Orchid Crafts along the bottom, tucking in some punched out leafy branches. To finish, I threaded through some ivory seam binding, popped on three little yellow gems and added the words – which are from Artchix.
I do like how this turned out, but I wish I’d done the Dylusions splatter effect. I was tempted to do it anyway, but having messed one tag up, didn’t want to tempt fate.
