Summer bee take 2

I have another Fair and Square project, for the current Crafty Boots Challenge,  to share with you today.

This is a canvas that I have had fun transforming with my favourite bee image from Stampotique.

I began by applying texture paste through a floral stencil. I’m at the end of my pot and think I might have been a bit frugal as there isn’t a huge amount of texture, although more than you can see in the photograph here. Once dry, I rubbed on some Dylusions paint. I used a baby wipe so that much of the colour was removed. I applied the bee using the tissue transfer technique, applying a coat of Glue ‘n’ Seal over the whole thing. The rest of the stamping was done directly on to the canvas.

I’ve added highlights of colour using a white gel pen, Promarkers and Polychromos.

Thanks for buzzing by.

  1. I love this canvass, the colours are just gorgeous and the bee image is just so you. It reminds me of long hot summer holidays in Devon when I was a child, dawdling through the cow meadows and splashing in the stream that led to the sea. Happy days!
