12 bees of Christmas – Day 11

Between now and January 6th I am sharing some little bee related projects – the 12 Days of Christmas with a Mrs Beez twist. I hope you enjoy them.

On the eleventh day Christmas my true love gave to me…

…eleven bees a-haunting

Ten bees kissing

Nine bees dancing

Eight bees a-snowing,

Seven bees a-swimming,

Six bees a-partying,

Five gold bees,

Four holly bees,

Three King bees,

Two snowman bees

and a santa bee with a beehive.

Recipe – Distress inks – Spiced Marmalade, Seedless Preserves and Iced Spruce. Boo-bees digi stamp from McMahon Five Designs Spider and web stamps by Chocolate Baroque.

If I’d known how I was going to create this I would have moved it higher up the batting order so there were fewer bees!  These fabulous ghost bees were a freebie from McMahon Five Designs and created to mark Breast Cancer Awareness month in October. I didn’t get them in time to do anything useful with them but fully intend to create some projects and raise some money this forthcoming October. There are lots of fabulous digi-stamps on the website, including lots of Breast Cancer awareness designs, but unfortunately these bees seem to be absent from the collections.

I resized and arranged the bees randomly before printing out two sets. I coloured the background lightly with distress inks and went over the antennae with a fine black marker. I added extra colour to the edge of the card and then stamped on the spider and webs. I cut out all eleven bees from the second set and used small, thin foam pads to stick them over the original images.

    • So glad they made you laugh! They are actually called “boo-bees” and that’s the link to breast cancer awareness. I love their little eyes peeking out! 🙂

  1. I choked laughing at what you have done with these adorable Boo-Bees, I am so pleased you did not think of them sooner, I love every single one. They are fabulous.
