I happened to have quite a few pieces of white card leftover from various projects. As they were sort of ATC size, instead of putting them in my ever increasing scrap pile, I thought I would whip up a few “same but different” ATCs.
I totally love my Dylusions paints but am a bit scared when it comes to using them so using them here, on these small scale pieces, was the perfect low-risk activity to overcome my fear.
I trimmed the card scraps to ATC size then, using fingers, smeared on blobs of paint. In some places I overlapped or, being very cautious as this is where I struggle, blended colours together. The paints dry super quick so by the time you’re done with the last one, the first is ready for its next treatment.
I added a yellow star to each one by applying the yellow paint through a stencil. The black outline is also a stencil from the same set by The Crafter’s Workshop.
I added random patches of stencilling using another Crafter’s Workshop template.
Finally, using a Fude Ball pen I added the words. Freehand – yep, I really did. And, although not entirely happy with the “dream,” I was more than bit pleased with how it turned out.
From my point of view, this was a great confidence booster and I just wish I had more time to mess around and get messy!
Whilst we’re talking stars, don’t forget we have a “stars or stripes” challenge on the go over at Crafty Boots Challenges, we’d love you to come and join in.
Thanks for buzzing by.
