Today I have a little altered cheese box to show you;

I love these boxes as they are so straight, which makes them easy to alter. I covered the box with Gatsby paper which comes from the Gecko Galz Gatsby paper pack. This a beautiful black paper with an art deco pattern but sadly the camera doesn’t pick this up very well. The tape measure is an image from the Stitch in Time ephemera set and I used that to trim the side of the lid.

The vintage image of the lady at the sewing machine is also from the Stich in Time set and I’ve trimmed it with ivory crochet lace. I’ve used some more ivory lace, topped with an ivory button, to create a little rosette.

Ivory pearls, black buttons and a pair of scissors charm completes the look.

A bonus of having one of these boxes to alter is that you also get a tasty snack!

    • Thank you Susan – it was lovely to return from holiday to your comment. You can’t beat a good cheese box and I love how square these are!

  1. I love this vintage image and all of your fabulous embellishments. It would make a wonderful little emergency sewing kit for when you are travelling.

    I always wonder when I see an altered cheese box, can you still smell the cheese?

    • Strangely, you can’t smell the cheese!! Good idea about the travelling kit, but it might just tip me over the baggage allowance!!!! 🙂

I really appreciate it when people take time to leave a comment, thank you so much for doing so :)
