Did you remember to put your clocks back last night? After going through a phase where Mr Beez would alter some of the clocks and not others we generally leave ours until the morning to avoid confusion! There was a time when the return to GMT meant an extra hour in bed. Now it just means an extra hour awake first thing in the morning! That said, I still love it and will be a fierce campaigner to retain the seasonal time changes. So, as the nights start drawing in I thought the time was ripe to share this little shadow box with you:
I’ve been searching high and low for some reasonably priced, by which I mean as chip as chips, shadow boxes in which to create little scenes. Whilst they seem readily available across the pond I have found it difficult to source something similar here in the UK. The one I’ve used here is the base of a box that is made from something similar to balsa wood. I’ve given it a coating of black acrylic paint and then covered the back with some paper from the Gecko Galz Coven paper pack.
On the inside I added a piece from the Hocus Pocus pack.
The fabulous cat and moon image comes from Haunted Ephemera. I cut out the complete image and adhered it to the back then cut out and additional cat and applied it with glue gel to add some dimension.
I’ve lined the base of the scene with moss and then added a little picket fence and a computer generated sign.
To the top I’ve added mini pumpkins (which are, in reality, seed pods called putkas or podkas and you can find them on Ebay and Etsy), and glittery punched stars.
There’s a border of orange glitter which I created by applying strong double sided tape and then pressing the glitter on to it.
I’m sharing this over at City Crafter Challenge Blog for their “Piece of Sky” challenge.
Hope you’re having a great Sunday and thanks for buzzing by.
