Quartz inchies and a wish

Crystal Quartz is this week’s theme over at Every Inchie Monday. I decided to go for those amazing agate slices that you see in gift shops.

These did not want to sit still whilst they were photographed! I used Promarkers to create the colour and then topped them off with some chunky glitter.

Now I didn’t really feel that these were enough for a blog post if you’ve taken the trouble to buzz over here so here’s another little project to feast your eyes on.

This is a little mixed media piece that I made quite a long time ago and never shared. Subsequently I made another one that was very similar and so this didn’t get to see the light of day. I used Dylusions ink sprays and a swirly stencil to create the background before applying all the elements.

The starfish is a wooden one that I’ve covered in clear glitter and a tiny bit of mixed gilding flakes.

Then there are some fusible fibres plus buttons, music manuscript and some punched branches.

I’ve added in some dew drops and the words.

Thanks for buzzing by.

  1. I love your inchies Lisette, they look like a special mineral cuts; and that glitter on it, it’s like a real stone flakes. I felt pity that I can’t see the other project, but my old comp didn’t load the images, I am sure it’s something extraordinary 🙂

  2. rats, I’m having connectivity problems and all I can see is the inchies which are wonderful. You’ve really got the sparkly of quartz and the colours are so pretty. I love those agate slices. I’ll pop back later to see your other work, computer willing.

    • Thank you Kia – there does seem to be a problem with the other pic, but I can see it fine when I load my page 🙁

    • Thank you Jean. Glad you can see the dewdrops as it seems not all can. They are just little glass like pieces (probably acrylic/plastic) that are sold as dew drops. Fiddly to apply but worth the effort. They come in different colours too.
