Night Owl

I was so excited to see the lovely Hels was back with the Sunday Stampers challenge that I was determined not to miss out on entering even though it’s been a busy old week. So when I should have been making sure that I was ready to go out the minute Mr Beez returned from the shops (I was on a final warning!) I probably shouldn’t have been messing about with inks and things.

The theme for the challenge this week is to include a bird. You might recognise this adorable little owl as the freebie that came with this month’s Craft Stamper magazine. I’ve coloured him in with Polychromos and added some white highlights.

For the background, I masked off a circle for the moon and then smooched on Seedless Preserves, Blueprint, Faded Denim, Chipped Sapphire and Smocked Hickory distress inks. I spritzed with water and then with Picket Fence Distress Stain. The moon was coloured with more distress inks – Antique Linen, Mustard Seed, Fossilised Amber and a bit of Smoked Hickory.

Don’t you just love that cheeky wink? I’d like to think he was keeping my little secret but, as it happens, I was ready (just!) in time.

Thanks for buzzing by.

  1. Great project, the background is an amazing colour. Fabulous colouring on the owl, I’m very impressed with the blending.
